Light to mid-grey‚ sometimes pinkish‚ granites; grey to buff quartzites‚ often finely banded; black and pink‚ well-banded quartzites; black and white‚ strongly banded gneisses of flatter aspect. All are well rounded from glacial transport‚ although some quartzites can be blockier‚ making excellent seat boulders. The larger specimen boulders are outstanding‚ beautiful and without equal in the UK.
